英人気ロックバンド「アークティック・モンキーズ」が、チャリティー目的で限定盤シングルをリリースすることになった。国際的な非政府組織（NGO）オックスファムが4日発表した。

Arctic Monkeys to release new single through Oxfam

Arctic Monkeys will release their new single through Oxfam shops, with proceeds going to help the charity's work around the world, Oxfam said on Tuesday.

新アルバム「Humbug」の先行シングルとして発売される7インチの限定盤「Crying Lightning」は、8月17日から同団体のチャリティーショップ700店舗で発売される。
同バンドは、オックスファムの店舗にCDを受け取りに行く際、不要になったアルバムやシングルを持っていくよう、ファンに呼びかけている。

The limited-edition 7" single "Crying Lightning", the first single from their new album "Humbug," goes on sale at Oxfam's 700 charity shops on August 17.
Arctic Monkeys urged fans to bring any unwanted albums or singles to their local Oxfam shop when they pick up a copy of their single.

Oxfam International is a confederation working with over 3,000 partners in more than 100 countries to find lasting solutions to poverty and injustice. Oxfam was originally founded in England in 1942 as the Oxford Committee for Famine Relief by a group of Quakers, social activists, and Oxford academics. It was one of several local committees formed in support of the National Famine Relief Committee. Their mission was to persuade the British government to allow food relief through the Allied blockade for the starving citizens of Axis-occupied Greece.
