クリントン米国務長官は、米国が国際再生可能エネルギー機関（IRENA）に加盟したと発表した。The U.S. joins International Renewable Energy Agency
The United States joined the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), The United States Secretary of State Clinton said.
IRENAは2009年1月、再生可能エネルギー産業の育成を目的に設立した国際機関で、現在までに135の国と地域が加盟している。
長官は「IRENAへの加盟は、クリーンエネルギー技術と低炭素経済の発展を支援し、気候変動問題に対処する政策上、重要」と述べた。
To date, 135 nations and regions have joined on IRENA which was established in January 2009 to promote development of the renewable energy industry worldwide.
"Participation on IRENA is an important element of the administration's effort to support clean energy technologies and the development of low carbon economies to address global climate change," the Secretary of State said.
