国連気候変動枠組み条約（UNFCCC）のイボ・デ・ボーア事務局長は9日、日本が温暖化ガス排出量削減で高い目標を設定することに期待を示した。

Expect to reduce greenhouse gas emission targets of Japan = UNFCCC Executive Secretariat

The head of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) Secretariat, Yvo de Boer said on 9th that he expect Japan to set strong goals on greenhouse gas emission.

日本のメディアは麻生首相が10日に2020年までの日本の温暖化ガス排出量削減目標を発表する見通しと伝えている。報道によると、1990年比4％増加から25％削減までの6通りのオプションがあり、麻生首相はそのなから7％削減の目標を選ぶとみられている。

Japanese media suggest that Prime Minister Aso will announce Japan's greenhouse gas emission goals by 2020 on 10th. According to the reports, Prime Minister Aso will take seven percent cut from 1990 among six options ranging from a four percent rise to a 25 percent cut.

ドイツのボンで開催されているUNFCCC関連の会合に出席中のボーア事務局長は、ロイターの電話取材に対し「日本のこれまでの6％の削減目標に続くものとして、日本が打ち出す削減目標を注意深く見守っている」と述べた。京都議定書のもとで日本は2008─2012年の排出量を1990年比6％削減するとしている。

"I am looking forward very keenly to the number that Japan will come with which I see as building on top of the six percent reduction to which Japan has already committed," executive secretariat Boer told Reuters by phone from assembly of UNFCCC talks in Bonn, Germany. Japan agreed to cut its emissions by six percent below 1990 levels by 2008-2012 under the Kyoto Protocol.

UNFCCC締結国は6月1─12日にボンで開催されている会合で2012年に期限を迎える京都議定書に続く新たな国際的な温暖化ガス削減目標を協議。締結国は12月にコペンハーゲンで開く会合で新たな目標の合意を目指している。

The UNFCCC member countries June 1-12 meeting in Bonn is working on new international goals for greenhouse gas emission following the Kyoto protocol which will be expired on 2012. The members aim to agree new goals in Copenhagen in December.
